My experience creating this photo essay has been different and one of learning. The events that I have taken photos of have been inside or at a time during the day where I didn’t have to worry about the sun shifting too much. But because the event took place during the evening as the sun was setting, I had to constantly alter the exposure and other settings to what I thought looked best. However, sometimes I would forget and some of the photos did not turn out as well as I hoped.
Overall, I think the photo essay turned out well. I wish that I would have taken a greater variety of shots, but I am still happy with the ones I did take. The longest part was deciding which photos to use for the essay. Afterward, editing was simply tweaking to what I thought looked best. Writing the captions meant using the information I had to help tell the story. Having done my first ever photo story, I feel as if I did a pretty good job and will definitely consider photo essays to tell other stories.
